Brian was born in a small town in southern Minnesota.  He grew up in western Wisconsin and was living in Denver, Colorado when he died.  Brian had a sparkle in his eye and a mischievous smile that could melt your heart.  He touched many lives and made a lasting impression on everyone he met.  Brian loved life and lived his life to the fullest. He pushed everything he did right to the edge.  He skied off of mountains cliffs, kayaked over waterfalls, and biked down the steepest mountain trails.  He also enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, running, hunting, scuba diving, and he loved to travel.  He was extremely outgoing and could always make friends where ever he went.

At 14 Brian went on a family trip to Colorado and spent some time in the mountains.  He vowed then that he would eventually move to Denver and make his home there.  At the age of 18 Brian did move to Denver as promised.  While there he worked as a cook at Perkins, The Rain Forest, and the Marriot Inn, until he met Chef, Nick Agro and began working for him at his catering company, Whirled Peas.  Brian loved working at Whirled Peas, where he met many new friends, famous people, and honed his skills in the kitchen.  By any standards, Brian had become a great chef.  Brian was extremely proud of what he had accomplished and was working on continuing his education in the Food Service Industry when he passed away.  Brian was lucky to find his passion, and have the courage to follow his dreams at such a young age.  He lived more in his brief 23 years than most people do in a lifetime.
